On the occasion of the state visit by the Dutch royalty, the Royal Netherlands Embassy, New Delhi, India, organized a high profile seminar on 25 October 2007, to discuss how micro-finance could help accelerate water (for both domestic and livelihood purposes) and sanitation goals, particularly those stated in the MDGs, through innovative partnerships. The seminar was attended by Her Majesty, Queen Beatrix, His Royal Highness, the Prince of Orange (Chair, UN Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation) and Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima (Member UN Advisory Board on Inclusive Financial Sectors).
