5th World Water Forum More than 80 members of the Gender and Water Alliance from across the globe joined up in Istanbul in March 2009, at the 5th World Water Forum, in an effort to mainstream gender equity issues in the discussions and emerging recommendations. GWA aimed to bridge specifically the gender gap in the various agendas, as “ Bridging divides for water” was the slogan of the Water Forum.
4th World Water Forum The 4th World Water Forum took place from 16-22 March 2006 in Mexico City. Its main theme was: “Local Actions for a Global Change”. Read about the different activities of GWA or download the synthesis report of the activities of GWA at the forum.
3rd World Water Forum In March 2003, the 3rd World Water Forum took place in Kyoto, Shiga and Osaka, Japan. GWA was present at the forum in Kyoto with a stand and a session called "Gender in Court".
