Catharien Terwisscha van Scheltinga ()

Catharien has over twelve years experience in IWRM, capacity building, gender and institutional development. In 2005 she represented the Dutch women in the CSD13 regarding water, sanitation and human settlements and she managed to translate the final declaration into concrete actions for implementation. Catharien coordinates a group of women water engineers.
She obtained her MSc degree Irrigation and Soil & Water Conservation in1993. She worked for FAO and WFP, in Bangladesh, Botswana, Burkina Faso, China, Lesotho, and Myanmar (Burma), as well as at FAO Rome and the agricultural university in the Netherlands. Since 2000 she is researcher and lecturer at Alterra-ILRI.
