This active Chilean Hydraulic Civil Engineer is an expert in water resources management, hydraulics and hydrology. She has worked for more than 20 years in themes related to water like Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, Water Resources Management, Mathematic Modelling, and Evaluation of water resources. Already for 19 years she has worked in the governmental administration of the State in the Chilean Directorate of Waters.

Besides, her strong vocation to public service and her permanent interest for social and cultural themes led her to become In Charge for Water Culture and Water Education, combining engineering with water management. Here she gives a strong emphasis to the social management of water, taking care of themes like indigenous people, community based organisations, women and youth.

During the last ten years, she has specialised in: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Management, preservation and protection of wetlands, water and indigenous people, rural and urban drinking water and sanitation, Environmental and water resources education, management and communal development of water, Cultural and Socioeconomic Aspects of Water Management, Civic and community participation in Water Resources Management, gender focus in IWRM, Governability of Water and Interinstitutional and Multisectorial Coordination.
