The website of the global union federation for public sector unions has a section on gender equality and a section on water utilities that are of interest.
Since 2004 SIWI regularly asks GWA advise concerning gained experiences in the South which can be presented during the yearly Stockholm Water Week. The Stockholm Water Week acts as a platform where local cases with specific attention for women and men are presented to the international water profession world.

The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance is an open network on Sustainable Sanitation to support the International Year of Sanitation. A joint road map of sustainable sanitation related activities for the IYS has been developed and consists mainly of a series of thematic working groups that will jointly elaborate a range of publications on sustainable sanitation issues, will organise or contribute to international events and will contribute to develop new funding instruments as well as sustainable sanitation capacity building and program initiatives.
The partnership with GEF IW Learn has the purpose of increasing general conscience about gender and water by a traveling exhibition, and to improve the relations between local GEF and GWA. Awareness raising and advocacy through the gender and water travelling exhibit planned to move from Latin America to Africa and probably Asia.

Cap-Net is an international network for capacity building in integrated water management. The partnership of autonomous international, regional and national institutions and networks is committed to capacity building in the water sector.
UNDP identifies gender mainstreaming as: "...taking account of gender equality concerns in all policy, programme, administrative and financial activities, and in organisational procedures, thereby contributing to a profound organisational transformation."

WSSCC it operates with a mandate from the United National General Assembly.
