GWA member Adewole Taiwo to meet President Obama

As seventeen countries across sub-Saharan Africa celebrate fifty years of independence in 2010, President Obama will host a forum in Washington in honor of this important historic moment. Aproximately 120 young leaders from civil society and the private sector coming from over forty countries in sub Saharan Africa have been invited to share their insights on themes like youth empowerment, good governance and economic opportunities with counterparts and U.S. Officials. President Obama will host a town hall meeting at the White House with these young leaders to discuss their vision for transforming their societies over the next fifty years.

Adewole Taiwo, GWA member since February 2009 is invited by President Obama

GWA is very proud that one of the members of our network, Adewole Taiwo, has been selected to attend this 3 day event and meeting with president Obama. Adewole Taiwo is one of three representatives from Nigeria and has been a member of GWA since February 2009. We wish him succes in the forum while discussing topics like transparency and accountability, rights advocay and the use of technology to empower individuals and communities, and are confident he will raise important issues regarding gender and water while doing so.
